La Femme D'Un Temps Passé Au Present (The Woman from the Past in the Present) is Eugene Marlow's fourth string quartet. It was written upon the occasion of his reconnecting with a woman he had originally been acquainted with as a teenager in a summer camp 50 years earlier where they were camp counselors and shared a love for classical music.
The composition was premiered by a string quartet during the 2012-2013 concert season hosted by the New York Composer Circle at St. Peter’s (Citicorp Center), New York City. It was subsequently performed by the Euclid Quartet at the inaugural Mostly Modern Festival, Skidmore College, Saratoga Springs, New York, in the summer of 2018.
